And then one other really small, only like 8pin (4top 4 bottom) that goes into the main hdd. and And there are other free ones that have nothing to do with hds. Hope you can see them well enough. alvino Golden Master Messages 19,967 May 6, 2006 #16 Umm...no. IDE has a 42 pin ribbon plug, while SATA has a 7 pin plug that's signifigantly smaller. The power plugs are different too. IDE uses the normal 4 pin Molex plugs, while SATA uses that flat, black plug you just showed me.
