Alright well i just purchased a new motherboard today

Put it in and all that crap

and started installing windows

when i get to formatting my HD I get this BSOD

looks like it's a ram problem. make sure it's correctly locked into the mobo

Alright ill check around and in my bios to see if anything is unusual and ill get back

Thanks

EDIT: The ram was in its bay properly and i checked the bios for unusual clock settings and still no luck

Im doing a fresh install of windows there is NO windows installed yet.

It happens when i am partitioning my hard drive in the windows setup.

I use NTFS (QUICK) at it jummps to 20% and then i get the BSOD

Alright Ill give that a shot right now

EDIT: Alright well It started formatting so i went to get a drink and i came back down and my monitor was black (light flashing) and no power was comping from my pc (Front LEDS were off side case fan was off)

I had that problem a couple of months ago working on a computer. I had a bad stick of ram. Another problem could be you have bad sectors on your hard drive, when you start the install select the repair option and at the prompt do c:\scandisk /all . This will tell you if you have bad sectors. There is a switch in there that will attempt to fix the errors but i cant remember what it is off the top of my head.
