Connecting the internet....

Okay so I have a motorola SB5101 SURFboard cable modem and I with telus. But whern I try to hook my other computer up to this modem it doesn't work. I remember awhile back when I called the support center. I kinda remember how it went:

Unplug your modem completely, restart the computer,
Start > Run > CMD > ipconfig
then I exit out, restart the computer after hooking the modem back all together,
Start > Run > CMD > Ipconfig
then it all works?

Is that right?

give people more than 20 mins to help you! anyway i dont really know what your problem is but i just wanted to point out that you should be patient. whats the harm in trying what you said above? i would of checked all the drivers on the other pc first though

Yea thewy all work they've been connected to the internet before. I think thats right I just dont wanna completely mess up and not have internet nemore

get a system resore point. try it. if it doesnt work then restore back
