Word processing software...

My mum has recently started writing a book, the thing is, she is retarded when it comes to using computers. She keeps saving her work in loads of different files and it is a nightmare for me to try and sort out.

Anyway,
Does anybody know a good piece of software that is specifically designed for writing books? Or just really good for that type of thing.

well save it as blablabla.doc or whatever the file extension is, and just keep saving to the same file, dont keep making new ones

1.Open Office or
2.Microsoft Office
3.Notepad
4.Wordpad

and keep saving to the same document
