...for normal use. Is it stable when running Windows XP? I haven't had much fortune running XP on a Xeon, so I'm wondering if normal use on server chips are better on the AMD end.

Probably more stable. But, as some will say better/faster runnning. I personally think that an Xeon is faster. But all in opinion I guess.

Is it more stable then, say, an FX-60?

Which would be faster, 2 Opteron 2.6ghz Dual Core, or 2 Xeon 3.8ghz? Remember that Xeon is not dual core.

Hmmm... my final question. How stable is the Opteron when running XP?

Ask Jamxx he has a an opty im sure there really stable cause a lot of ppl are using optys on desktops

How many people use Xeon on desktops?

I'm the only guy I know who has one.

I would think Opterons are VERY stable, even in an XP environment. They run on servers and we all know how servers have to be kept up and running 24/7.

I've never used Xeon or Opteron CPUs before. My mind is stuck on servers when it comes to those CPUs.
