Recently i have had troubles connecting to my wireless network it will not go any further than acquiring network address. I am running Windows XP sp2, a asus wl 138g wirelss pci card, and my router is a SMC Barricade Adsl router. I know the internet is working because i can directly run an ethernet cable from the router to my computer and get a good connection. The problem i think is with my DHCP client. I have it enabled and running on my computer i don't know why i can't get my wireless working. I have full access to change settings on the router and on my computer so any suggestions are encouraged.

Yeah, it would help to know that.

Also, the IP is definetly in the trusted zone, for the wireless settings?

Is the MAC Address of your Wireless card trusted under your router's configuration? If you have any security enabled on the router for wireless, that could be the problem.

Yes i am using windows xp to connect to the network. The router has mac filtering disabled and the firewall is off. Thanks for your suggestions i need this solved as quickly as possible.
