Time for an upgrade?

i have 1.5 gb of ram 2x 256 2x 512
new video card Radeon x700 pro
bought all of this in december

well what do u use the comp for?

whether you need an upgrade is all dependent on what kind of applications you use on your computer. your ram and videocard should be able to support most games on regular settings.

well that looks pretty good...now if u want something better i would try to do 2x1gb dual channel ram...and maybe a newer video card but the x700 should be doing fine...what games do u play???

cod2 half-life2 and mods and im proly going to get half-life 2 ep 1 and sins emergence, along with dod css cs hl and mod

hmmm...well are ur 2 512's exactly the same (RAM sticks)???

edit: becasue if so u can do dual channel which is like changing ur current one lane highway to a two lane highway...so it will go faster...now i don't know if it would beat ur current 1.5gb's...but it may run faster...also i would maybe suggest a new mobo down the road...mainly because u could get pcix16 slots...

yeh its not too bad...maybe later u can get a 6800 i found at new egg...agp 512mb etc... pretty good...but i would say ur system is fine for now

k thx yes all of my sets are the same and i think im running them duel channel 1,3 and 2,4
