no, intels are far better for multitasking.

I use my rig for animation and 3D graphics in which I use multiple programs at once. Compared to other Intel comps I have used with their dual-cores, I still think AMD works the best. Maya unlimited, Photoshop, and Motion builder demand alot from a comp just by themselves. I use them all a once and my rig still doesn't slow down.

Re: Competition: Make The Best Gaming Or Mutlitasking Computer!

joxley1990 that video card is a beast. it doesn't even look like something you clip into a computer it looks more like a clip for a machine or something lol

Re: Competition: Make The Best Gaming Or Mutlitasking Computer!

Or it looks like you build the computer based around that. Its nice though, love it.

And two of them! :p

Re: Competition: Make The Best Gaming Or Mutlitasking Computer!

Opterons own any current Xeons even at multitasking.

Re: Competition: Make The Best Gaming Or Mutlitasking Computer!

looks at mobo and jaw drops

Maximum Memory Supported 24GB
wow 1grand for youre processor! Are you rich

Re: Competition: Make The Best Gaming Or Mutlitasking Computer!

arrix, how would that mobo have a max memory of 24gb if it only has 6 memory slots. That equates to 6 4gb sticks of ram, which I don't think exhist.

anyways, my ultimate computer.
A great multitasking computer:

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131564 ~$200

UPS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817703003 ~$320

Along with some other acessories.
Total Price about $12,000 :D :D

edit:

replace the mobo, cpu, and mem with these:

mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813151009 ~$1250

cpu's (x4): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103573 ~$870 ea

memory (x16): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146576 ~$520 ea

oh, then the total is about $25,000
and probably half of the other components will not work, that is a server mobo.

Re: Competition: Make The Best Gaming Or Mutlitasking Computer!

Everyone is going for the 7900GTX X2 IN SLI!

Thats a nice build lhuser, that desk rules!

Re: Competition: Make The Best Gaming Or Mutlitasking Computer!

Wow, I was making mine at least reasonable, but 12 grand! Holy hell!

Later today, ill make the best one I can find! I wont worry about keeping it semi low, im going all out :D

And im a mutlitasker, so as always, ill go with Xeons :D

EDIT>

Oh yeah, and the reason I dont have crossfire or a better video card, as its not a gaming PC. But ill show you all something kick ass :D

Remember, to make a full computer. Not just the basic parts. I mean everything. Case, CD drive, all the little odd ball things we dont normally think about.
