Alrite here my thing last summer I built my current computer for $250, and now i'm and a little problem I can't run most modern games i.e. Elder scrolls IV with out a crash or terrible lag or something random like that so I tring to firgue out a meduim perforemance system that will last me abit. my most important thing is time to the next upgrade for the dollar.
Right now I have:

MachSpeed Venom V2DP soc A mATX
AMD Duron 1.8Ghz CPU
Connect3D Radeon 7000 / 64MB DDR
WD-120GB/7200/8MB/ATA-100
Viking 512MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz Memory*2
A nice little mATX case with a 350watt
DVD-Rom, and i'm on wireless if that matters.

So I'm thinking I have to upgrade my Video card, and problay my motherbroad and CPU. Any ideas I was kinda thinking a Geforce 7300 but not quite sure i don't really have an idea for MB and CPU.
My bugdet is around $300-400 maybr alittle more but cheaper the better

Dude, you should upgrade everything, and when i say everything, i mean it. You may need to spend alot more than $400 to run elder scrolls IV oblivion.

Right, the main thing there is the CPU, RAM and definetly video card, see what you think of these.

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103535 - $154

Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128301 - $98.99

Video card - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Showi...8MB+GDDR3+PCI+Express+x16+Video+Card+-+Retail - $135

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820144114 - $91.50

Slightly over budget, but pretty nice parts there - grand total...$479.49

In the future, you could get another 6600GT, and have SLI which would be cool.

Ooo yeah, you will need a better PSU, like a 550Watt - so really, at the end of that your looking around the $500 mark..

Hope I helped.

about $650, including tax, fees and shipping etc.

You may want to buy some cooling kits.

oblivion...with that system? $250? thats insane! you better spend your $400 wisely if you want to play oblivion. i mean, if you choose the right stuff you'll get better performace

hehehe yeah it looks like, all that i really could save is the HD and ram just use the ram ah man i'm to poor for this :p
