Hiya all.
I have a fairly new (only had it a few weeks) ATI Radeon x850XT. Recently, I have noticed that it has started to atrifact really quite badly in high end games.
Because of this, I thought that it was an overheating problem, so I downloaded ATItool and made my fan speed as high as I could, just to see if it would help. It did help, but still artifacts slightly later in the games. I have also noticed that the artifacting only starts to happen when the card reaches the 50 degrees C mark. My usual tempertures when just running basic Windows programs is between 36C and 41C. When in games, temps can get as high as about 52C.
Is it overheating that is causing the problems? Do I need to buy a cooling system?
And this may be a long shot, but could it also be because of any faulty RAM, because yesterday I ran Memtest86 and it returned 14 errors. And also, could it be because of any lack of power?
My specs:
> ATI Radeon x850XT 256mb
> AMD Athlon 2600+ (2.1ghz)
> DVD RW and DVD-ROM
> Two HDDs - 80gb and 320gb
> MSI KT400 Ultra motherboard
Thanks for you help,
Jamie.
