Wasup?!

My question is this:
I currently own a SpeedStream 5100 Modem, (through SBC/ATT DSL), I currently have a Linksy Router BEF blah blah, can't remember all the model garbage. This thing is history, so it really doesn't matter.

I'm trying to dodge Linksys, I'm not impressed, the router was 2 years old, and hasn't been a good friend tro me (left me a few nasty looking knuckles...J/k)

The problem it was giving me was this, when I was using the internet it would go off and on, but not like right after the other every 10 to 15 minutes it would shut off my MMPORG games, and my msn messenger. And I've done process of elimination until I reached the router.

I'm hopeing somebody with the 5100 SpeedStream that has bought a router, and has it hooked up, if they could share there expierence with the setup, and if it's worked great. I'm looking at D-Link, and I really need at least an 8 port, but a 4 port will work with wireless setup.

Thanks in advance.

Seriously man, i have had the standard linksys router for like 2 years now, not problems, i thought that too, but it ended up being my ISP (internet service provider) Try setting your router back to default settings and see if it still kicks you off, also, try checking the cat5 cables and switching them out with different ones. Check your network port to make sure it isnt auto shutting off, try reinstalling the drivers on it. if after all that fails, linksys has a live web chat that can better help you with your problem.

Dude it is the router. The second I unplug that thing and directly connect my Cat5 to the modem straight all the problems disappear. There is nothing wrong with the cat5 cables. I posted this for reguards on a good Router that works with that modem, not troubleshooting advice.
