How much RAM can my computer handle?

I have two slots, thats why for all the options I only included two slots.. How do I find out information on my motherboard? (Sorry, I'm new to parts and just learned how to insert RAM and check RAM type)

Most machines around that time could handle 2-4G, mostly depending on the amount of slots. I don't think 2G would be impossible...perhaps impractical, but possible.

My cousin said I could only handle about 512MB...

Download CPUZ, and it will let you the mobo. From there we can google it and see how much it supports..

Okay, I got CPUZ from MajorGeeks...(I googled it ) Glad I can get a proggie, I'm not in the mood for taking that case off (lol)

Weird, It should say the manufacture, and the model number..Should look something like this...Maybe you will have to open the case.
