Visual basic is a programming language. yuo can practise making programs in this,
(but only visual basic programs).

What language were you trying to use/get practise with?

yep... he uses Microsoft Visual studio 6.

VS6 or VC++6 are Microsoft programs, that you need to pay for

I'm not sure that you are able to buy VC++6 anymore, but either head down your local computer shop, for a licensed copy, or you could try labs.msdn.microsoft.com for a beta copy of anewer version of what he uses...

sounds like you might want to start with VB(visual basic) or something like that, so you can get an idea of programming syntax, and the way things work. cpp is an object oriented programming language however, visual basic is not, but alot more beginner friendly
