Problems playing DVD on TV

I have a computer in my room with a DVD drive, and I want to be able to use it to play movies on my TV. My Vid card has an SVideo Out port, so I bought and Svideo-RCA adapter to transfer the video. For the sound I used a headphone-RCA left/right cable.

I've gone into my Graphics cards settings, and told it to clone the video to my TV. Everything works fine when I'm just at my dessktop or running programs. However, when I watch any sort of video, whether its DVD or just streaming footage online, it just appears black on my TV. For the video, I've tried using WMP, Winamp, and 3 kinds of DVD playback software.

Any suggestions?

Wait, does everything else come up on the tv? If not then all you have to do is restart the computer.

Alright NVM, I got it working. Turns out that video can only be displayed on unit you label as Primary Monitor when your using the clone setting.

yea the frame rate of the movie is incompatiable with your tv...it happens on my old tv
