Exploit WMF virus

[Brookfield]

Since I first got this virus on April 1st, & it was put in the vault, every day AVG finds the same one again, & states "moved" but hasn't put the additional ones in the vault.
Does this mean that I still have just the one, or that multiples of it won't affect my system any further?
I must say, I get very little interference from pop-ups, which what it does, as I expect you know, I can live with this, if you recall, I did post saying that I went to programmes & found it easy to delete it & "all it's components", to which, a member said that it had probably left hidden parts, well here's the proof, I have done a deep search, whih included hidden files, but came up with nothing.
It's worse than a trojan in a way, in that trojans are always put in the vault without fail.

some viruses copy itself quite a bit of times, sometimes in different locations....if i where u i would format and reinstall windows...(isn't that the answer to almost everything...lol)

I keep getting it as well Brookfield, if you search for the virus in the search box, then just delete it, it goes away - did for me anyway.

Have you not got a system restore point you can roll back to?

I said in my post that I did a search & nothing showed up.

Have you tried downloading a different anti-virus and seeing if that gets rid of it?
Scan in safe mode and see what happens then.

Yeah, AVG is good but it doesnt work all the time. B4 I had this trojan, and AVG never detected it. I installed Norton and it didnt find anything the first time I scanned, but I gave it a few days in it found the Trojan. Do you leave the resident shield on? Leaving it on might be the answer to your problem.

To clean up the remnants of this, I'd do a scan at:
http://housecall.antivirus.com

I'd also get the trial of NOD32 and do a scan with that and remove everything it finds.

Lookout for a removal tool for that virus. Instead of moving the virus, try and delete.

If I use either of these, are they just a one-off d/load, & will I have to temp de-activate my d/loaded free version of AVG, I have great doubts that this can be done with this type of AVG.

The scanner at http://housecall.antivirus.com runs right through your browser.

You shouldn't have to disable AVG Free for either, no..

The second one seems to be its own virus scanner (not removal for this specific virus) but it claims it can remove it.

NOD32 again is its own scanner but is a GREAT scanner.
