Display problems

This is the display on my laptop computer. This started after having to force power-off when it started to lock up. After having to do this multiple times my screen started to look like this. Does anyone know what is causing this, and if hardware related, what needs to be replaced. Thanks in advance

Umm yikes!,
Are you running 32bit colour when you right click on your desktop, properties, setting Coulour Quality. It might have something to do with your Graphics. Have you tryed reformating your compy?

it looks as thought its just the background, try changing the background
