I was looking to download a new wallpaper, found something I liked on google image search and right clicked/set as desktop backround. It asked me if I wanted to install an "active desktop" and I stupidly clicked yes. Now I have this stupid thing on the bottom right hand quarter of my desktop that I cant get rid of.

I change the wallpaper and the majority of the screen changes but the bit in the bottom right quarter stays there!

Doing my nut in!! Any ideas how I can get rid of it?

Well, not exactly sure, but it may be something like a webpage.

Right Click Desktop --> Properties --> Desktop --> Customize Desktop --> Web

Untick that, and remove anything there.

If not, also try looking round Control Panel and try and uninstall Active Desktop.

ok, right click on an empty place on the desktop then click on properties...then the desktop tab... then click on customize desktop... then click on the web tab... then find the one that is there and delete it...
