New Laptop!!! Whoohoo!! I Need A Network!!!

hey i just went to officedepot, and bought my brand new compaq laptop, 2555us!!!
yayayayayayay!

anyway....
i wanna set up a network, so i can share files between the two easily. i tried the windows home office/network setup wizrd, and it didnt work, is there some better software for setting up/managing a network?
if so what?
or other suggestions?

Well first of all, give some info on your network. What exactly isn't working? The xp network setup wizard is really easy to set up.
