Guide: Becoming A+ Certified

i'm a 16 year old, and i'm hoping to become a computer tech.... i love working with computers and electronics....i'm in grade 10, and i don't have the best marks..(50's-70's)...hopefully i can do something i enjoy doing...thanks for the info on becoming a+ certified..it will become handy, thanks

How long does the certification last, is there a renewal period or anything like that?

I'll reply since this was a guide thread, and the information in here is still completely relevant.

A+ Certifications never expire, however every 3 years they update and release new exams (Current is the 2006 exams). You do not need to have the latest certification to get a job in the field, however it may give you a slight advantage.
