New comp,3 questions

k well I just got my new com,love it btw,and was just wondering how you turn up the volume, I knw you hold ctl and volume up button or something like that,now how do I bring up my backround after I hit prnt screen,it dosent come up when I do it the way I do on my desktop.and finaly how do I use the special characters,like the cross and other cool symbols,it to dosent work the way it dose on my desktop

well to see the print screen just paste it into paint. to turn up the volume use the volume control in the taskbar. what cool symbols do you mean though?
