Mates GPU upgrade

My mate in Uni wants to update his ATI X700 to a better card.

I've been telling him that his £80 price point probably won't get him a better card.

Hes talking about getting the X1300, but I'm sure this is worse than the card he already has, even if it has a bit better support for more effects.

This card is worse right?

Surely a X800 if he could afford more would be a better investment?

That X1300 is not worth getting, i'd avoid it. x800 is a much better investment. Perhaps save up a little and get atleast a 6800GS or something.

Probably an X800 or X850 would do. I still can't figure out why the X1300 is bad, but all I know is that it's bad.

agreed. In my opinion none of the X1300 and X1600 cards is worth the money.

Hey, thanks for that. I was thinking that as well, since the X1300 has even less pipelines 4) than my 9800PRO card (8), and that was starting to get bad at games.

I'll have to tell him the X800 most probably is his best bet.
