How well does windows defrag and scandisk work?

I second that! Although its an endless debate on whether its worth it or not.
i think its a maintenance task tht ought to be done just like other stuff such as cleanups and scans. Coz a severly fragmented drive can slow cause performance degradation and its not an uncommon situation even for NTFS systems.
oh yea NTFS fragment plunty as well. And you know alot of people don't degrag, cleanup, or even scan!! i forgot exactly how much it is but somethin like 60-70% of computer users don't even have anti-virus or a firewall activated.thats horrible!! thats probably why everyone says windows is so vonerable because no1 even tries 2 protect it!

windows defrag works ok but if the system contains large files which are fragged, it fails to defrag it. I guess diskeeper does the best in such cases.
It also defrag MFT which is most important, if you do lot of gaming and updating of system.
