I reckon the spec of the laptop is fine joepic; it's one of those Vaio FS series...1.6Ghz Centrino, 1GB RAM, etc etc. Never had performance issues before this which makes me think...

I'm just positive it must be some kind of virus or something.

That site is neat...Still, the ones it considered dodgy were all Sony software which came with the Vaio or Symantec's Norton products; they're fine.

...The only one i'm unsure about is:
'C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\OPHLADCS.EXE'

Still, it looks like something to do with the processor, being x86 and all that. I stopped the process to see if that did anything, and, it didn't.

...Any more ideas?

I have a solution for you and you may or may not like it.

A Format and reisntallation of windows.

That always fixes any problems with software you may be having.

...I'm no wiz on computers but that was my thoughts exactly when i looked at the process list xcomputer.

Just confuses me as 'nothing' has been changed on the computer...Can't understand it, and, as mempf suggested, as much as i hate it, i think we're going to have to format this PC. Really don't want to.

Woah! Hold on a sec! Do NOT do anything yet!: Why, these things don't always work right. You need a person to do it. I know a few forums where they have people who can look at your logs.

Those online log readers can damage your system if you remove the wrong thing.
