Motherboard and proccessor?

I have a computer at the moment but the motherboard is quite dated, I'm thinking of buying a new motherboard one with a PCI-E expansion slot in it for 50 pounds, I only have 66 pounds and cannot afford a 90 quid processor to fit it I was woundering if my 2.4ghz celeron processor would fit into it so I don't have to go and buy a new one.

it wouldnt be worth it to get a motherboard that your celeron can fit into because celerons suck anyways so u wouldnt see any performance increase and socket 478 is outdated now, save up some money and buy a nice new motherboard with a decent cpu
