I recently installed a NEC DVD burner and when I try and play a DVD movie in it the sound is all broken up. Using Windows XP SP2. Sound is SoundMAX integrated digital audio. The sound works fine doing everything else (itunes, windows media player)...it's just messed up when trying to watch a movie....anyone know why and how to fix? (i already checked all my drivers and they are up to date, and a flashed the latest firmware from NEC but nothing fixed it yet).

i just figured it out.....here's the answer if anyone else ever has this same problem..........i right clicked my volume control in the taskbar and clicked "adjust audio properties". i then went under the audio tab, and clicked on "advanced" under sound playback, and then under the "performance" tab i moved the hardware acceleration from full down to standard and that fixed it. (sorry to double post...i guess i could have went in and edited my first post adding in this info, but i didn't think of that till after i posted this one).
