well, it's about 10 mins. i never officially clocked it, but i would say on a good day its around 7 mins.
i have a athlon 2100(1.7ghz)
512mB pc2100 ram
onboard video(Geforce2?)
5400rpm hdd, 66mb/s

and this load time is a big part of the reason im gonna be building my own comp.

Intel's are indeed more reliable, AMD's are more suited for gaming and thigns of that nature.

But back to the 10K RPM HDD.

Firstly, speed is NOT everything when concerning a hard drive. You have to take into consideration it's cache size, latency, seek time, and write time. There's some hard drives that are 7,200RPM that could beat a 10,000RPM hard drive.
