I just downloaded an .avi file..and wmp will not display the image, only the sound. I'm not sure what to do, someone help?

Get the Divx player and install it and try that

most likely u are missing a codec.

I'm using the full one and never had a missing codec.

i just downloaded the full one and i tried playing a dvd through windows media player but it couldnt do it and it recommended lowering my screen resolution which i dont wana do, anyone know why it did that?
