My computer that I just finished building won't turn on completely...

For some reason when I turn on my computer (press the on button) the on light turns on and everything turns on for a fraction of a second and then turns back off but the on light remains on, I don't know wether it's the motherboard, the power supply is bad or I didnt hook something up correctly.

if you need more just ask

Swap the ram with other ram if you have any of the same type. Also try taking one out and using only one and see if it boots up.

that didnt do anything even if i took both sticks out it would do the same thing so its either the power supply the motherboard or my doing a bad job of hooking stuff...and have a question, what are thethings at the end of the cords to give power to the hardware (disk drive, etc.) because they dont fit anywhere on my motherboard or my hardware

Those are only for hd's and cd drives. You dont need to have them on your mobo...THey are called molex connectors i think.

ok but what about the ones smaller than the "molex"
