Okay, so I'm gonna be building a new setup soon. Got like $500 atm so bout half way there, probably get a job soon as well so yeah. Anyways this is what I'm thinking of getting atm:

CPU:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
GFX CARD:
I can't seem to find a 6800GS in the shops near me but I'm trying to get one.
If I can't I'll probably get a 6600GT
POWER SUPPLY:
Antec 480W True Power

CASE:
Either a Thermal Take Soprano or Mambo. Hmm, can't find the black on at the shop I'm looking at noooooooo. X|
MOTHERBOARD:
ASUS A8N-SLI (I know it SLI and i'm only getting one gfx card atm but I might upgrade and it's the best mobo for the cheapest price where I'll get it).

Oh and if anyone knows any computer shops in WA (Australia) that have good prices please share. Please share your ideas.

its alright..i would try to get a dual core if u can afford it..

That Looks like a good rig.. BUT REMEMBER i hate it when this happens

snag urself a copy of windows 64 bit edition to get the full power out of ur amd 64

because theres not that much of a difference from any other processor when running it in x32

its alright..i would try to get a dual core if u can afford it..

I thought dual cores wouldn't help games much because there not designed to use both of the cores. I can't afford it anyway though.

well some games have patched that utilize the other core..but they wont get outdated as fast either

and also wwith Vista coming out..the dual core will be used

Hmmm, what about a AMD X2 3800+ that seems like an alright price bout another 100 on the one I was thinking about getting.
