question with laptop power cord

we have a dell laptop, anywyas when we have the ac/charger pluged into the wall, it has the green light on, as soon as we plug it in to the laptop the light goes out, do you think it is a bad charger or battery

WHat does the greenlight indicicate? fully charged? is the laptop able to charge?

Im having the same problem with a Dell latitude. The light indicates that the laptop is plugged in.
