i have about 600 to 700 to spend on a desktop pc, i was going to custom build one at my local shop, would just like some help one spec,i was thinking

amd athlon processor not sure whish one, regular one or fx one and not sure what speed (if possible the dual core one)

200 gb hard drive

at least 512 mb or ram

at least 6 usb2 ports

please could you help me on the rest of the spec such as graphics card sound card etc, and also it needs a wireless network card, and i was also thinking about putting windows media centre on it, i will be using it for gaming, general work as im doing my gcses plenty of internet use, listening to music, i would like it to be as fast as possible, thanks very much
 
Well there is no way you are getting a FX processor. Those alone cost more then $700

dont buy one man, make your own its cheaper and you cna get a better righ with the saved money.

Yep, I have to agree, that's a nice setup for that amount of money. Do keep in mind that you will still need optical drives if you don't already have them and a floppy drive if you want it.

also,is it worth geting windows media centre, or will it not be that much better, i have ben told the media centre os will cost 20 quid extra but a digital tv card will cost 65.00 extra. is this worth the extra money? or is the media centre not all its cracked up to be
