Positive - that would make it about 28C - and Id like to see that without a fan on a P4 - there was times where I started to multi-task, and it would just switch off, and it did burn your hands...ahhh my noob days.

hehe funny u should say that cause i have a comp downstairs with a P4 2.8GHz @ 3GHz and it idles at about 26-28 
EDIT: sry got a bit off topic, well since we cant tell which temp is which download everest and tell us the temps from there

his not talking about the cpu... its his video card. @ 85c.. how much memory do u have.. i rekon just do a adware & spyware scan with ad-ware personal.. clean up the computer.. if still happens back up and reformat..

Your memory is defective. Try another stick for a change. If you don't have a stick, try www.memtest86.com
If you have more than one stick, it is prefered to test them one at the time.
