Help me remove HP embedded software from my new PC

When I have had this problem they have refused to send me out an XP disc HP usually have a partition which enables you to restore the system to default, then what I do from there is just go straight to control panel and remove all the programs which I don't want and set a system restore point from there.

Probably the long winded way but I always get a good increase in speed after thats done.

Well first, starte taking things off from Add/Remove programs, In the control panel.

That's just what I was going to say. That should definitely make an improvement; just take off everything that you recognize as the programs that they put on there. I did that with my Compaq laptop and it made a pretty big difference (even though it came with XP Pro and not XP Home!)

Its not going to be that big of a deal. It just cleans up the useless crap. But it is a start, at least untill he gets the disk.
