that won't happen, and probably wouldn't do any harm if it would.
They DON'T do it with real paint, they do it with a pencil. Atleast that is the cheapest, easiest and safest way to do it.

I think it was definietly worth the time, but imagine if you wanted to change motherboards, etc, and had to go through same process again? haha
