hi everyone, ok heres my problem;
when trying to play any type of video it plays for a few seconds freeze's, then continues to do so, making it impossible to watch anything.
im running windows media centre edition 2005, fresh install yesterday, all updates etc.
at first i thot it was my graphics card (Geforce 4 MX 4000 256mb) so i removed it and replaced it with the following;
Nvidia GeForce 4 Ti 4600,
still the same problems so ive updated codecs the lot, still the same, checked the files, tried new ones, everything, but nothing works.
anyone know whats happening???

system specs
AMD Athlon XP 3000+
1.25Gb DDR 400 (PC3200)
Mobo: Soyo KT600
Nvidia GeForce 4 Ti 4600

if anyone could help then that'd be great. thanks,

Do you have the newest codecs? Try installing an update for WMP, or get some codec packs.

Oh, I hate that thing. It was terrible. Couldn't play streaming videos at all. Just froze at the very beginning.

Well, it's been fine for me. Which version did you use? (And yes it doesn't have the best interface in the world, lol).

I don't remember. But watching like embedded videos (music videos and such) it was incredibly awful.

VLC Player works but why does windows media player/quicktime/DivX player not ??? .
id rather use windows media player, anyone know how to fix this then properly?
cheers
