Access no Internet.

I seem to be having a problem with my computer, i can ping other websites and everything like that but no programs like msn can connect or i cant browse the net. I use a little program called winsock fixer which does something but when its finished i have to restart the comp, and i have to do this every time i boot. It was working fine before and i cant work out why.

Can anyone help me make it stay permanent?

are you using a firewall if so try turning it off otherwise i would uninstall msn and reinstall also internet explorer.check all ie setting are set to default.also is the date and time correct on your pc.

connected to a router or directly to the cable modem

i have done all this, i am on wireless through my router.
