OEM vs RETAIL

Retail you also pay for excess things you don't even get, like cost of display, the building, the staff, the organisation, profit margins... all mounts up.

I thought OEM was somethign like, "Out of the Box Experience" or something? Oh well, OEM is just retail without the fancy boxes. I bought an OEM video card, it was just a brown box with the video card in it and some cables.

Bascially, if you want the simplest version of a product, get OEM, if you want all the upselling things, like, say you purcahsed a 6800GT, in the box it would say like, "Buy a new Sound Blaster blah blah blah." That's the only difference...

Basically, haha.

Although you can get some good offers on extras with Retail? Depends how hard you look I suppose.

True they do have some good offers, but mostly the extra money you pay for retail is the money they used to print the ads they send you in the retail product, so either way you're getting your product, it's just do you want ads with it or not? :D
