Actually 65nm chips means a lower cost. It's less silicon being used, so the price drops for the product to be made and then sold. So because it's 65nm doesn't necessarily make it more expensive, but rather cheaper, which is why the new Intel Pentium D 9xx processors are considerably cheaper then their older Pentium D counterparts.
And the core duo is insane, but I much rather have an X2 then a core duo!
