Operating System Not Found!

Help! I turned my computer on, any it said OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND. I put the XP CD in, did the recovery thing, and a blue screen comes up after the Windows XP bootscreen that says PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED. What can I do?

reformat and reinstall

IS THAT THE ONLY THING I CAN DO?!?!?!?! I really, REALLY DON'T WANT TO REINSTALL IT! Can I add a partition thingy with the same O/S, or at least instaed of PRO I do HOME?

I do, but my main one is the one thats having problems! I heard its something to do with Roxio GoBack...i'll try uninstalling that.

OK, I made a GoBack ISO CD, removed GoBack, and that doesn't help.

If i install a new partition with a different os (i have xp pro sp1 cd & an sp2 cd), and i would like to add a partition with a xp home sp2 cd. then when i use xp home, can i repair xp pro then delete the xp home partition.
