Harddrive Help

Okay, I need suggestions on internal harddrives. I've narrowed down my options to the Western Digital Caviar SE 250 GB 7200 RPM w/ 16MB Cache. However, when I look at the lowest ratings I see reports of the harddrive crashing quickly. Is this due to that particular customer's inability to install the harddrive correctly, or is it the harddrive itself?

My next question is if I can transfer my entire current harddrive to this one, including operating system, etc...

My final question is how to set up a RAID 1 configuration, as my primary concern is harddrive failure, not performance, as this will be my only pair of harddrives.

And, well... I think you would need to install the OS on it, and make the other drive a slave, and then, copy the files to it...

And you want raid 1. Well.. Then your getting two of those? Not sure how to set up up, although, you need like splitter jumper cables or something, lol...

Hmmm... the cache's a lot worse... so I would need to purchase another copy of XP?

Why don't you just have 2 hard drives in one computer??

no, just install the second HDD...you'll have two drives instead of one. the OS will boot off of the current HD its on, and you can use the second one for anything else...
