dell dimension 8200 CPU ?

anyone know why the computer will not boot after i changed the p4 1.8 cpu to a p4 2.6 ?

the 2.6 was previously in another computer (dimension 8300)

i just wanted to change the 2 processors, and i was wondering if the motherboard on the 8200 (idk why type, its an intel mobo) its about 3 or 4 years old, was compatible with a XFX Geforce 6600gt ?

Yup. Socket differs. Why didn't you stay with the 8300? the specs are quite decent

they were my brothers computers and he wanted to swap them for some reason
