HI

I need some "Expert" help on this. no flames please. Please read it all sorry kind of long

I posted this on other forums but not to much help so far

I just bought a new graphics card for my computer beacuse bf2 and some other games like cod2 dont run well on my old 6800 cheap version. I now have a x1900xtx So thought great i can run max all but i cant

My 3dmark scores are low only 8500 ish if that matters compared to 10500ish that other people get and i had to oc the card to 680/790 to get that 8500

Also games like bf2 on 64man servers at 1200 res dips a lot to 30fps and other city maps it can be lower on avg. Like 40-50-60s mostly 40-50s on 64man servers. That normal on 1200 res for a x1900xtx? and if not oc with CCC dips can go to high 20s

I have a intel cpu which NOW i here sucks for games. I never even heard of amd until now. Anyone ever see ads of amd? Games run much better with the upgrade but i want all i can get out of my card you know?

real problem is what can i do? I would need

new case
new mother board
new psu
new cpu
new mem

And i mean what else? Can my harddrive connect or will that be a problem? it has some small blue connector. Thin. I have a old dell xps 4 system the psu is 460wats which is fine can i some how keep the case? it would save me tons of money

Can a Intel pull full frames or is that just not possible? I would really not like to spend all the money.

What is the best up above that i can get? For the cpu i dont want those 1000 bucks versions beacuse one they are only like 5 fps more in reviews and 2 im not that rich

again can i fit a mother board in my old case? i really dont care if it doesnt fit as long as i can plug in/close case and it works

forgot again

cpu is 3.6ghz ht intel old 560
2gs 533mhz ram ddr2

I read whole guide on reformating at www.tweakguides.com if anyone asks if software problem

Your hard drive needs to stay, you cant change that out. Your cpu, memory, and case is fine. So is your psu. A x1900xtx should do very well. 2GBs of RAM should benefit map loading times. Are you running AA or AF at all? Those are very taxing on your system especially your gpu. If you had went with an AMD, you might get better frames. But that would mean a new motherboard and cpu and RAM. And that might mean a new case and hard drive (becuase of the special connector) So if you do go AMD, you might have to replace a lot of stuff. And i see you might not want to do that for a couple extra frames. But check the Anti Aliasing and turn it down.

No it should run fine that I have a 3.6OCed from 3.0 with 1gig DDR400 @ 480 and a 6600GT and i get 60FPS

Sorry... but dell makes propietary things, such as cases, etc. Getting all that stuff to fit in that case would almost be impossible. You'll need a new one to make life a lot simplier. Trust me. I wish I could say go for it, but dell cases just don't fit anything else. Yeah, amd is the best for gaming. Why? Intel lacks it's own on-die memory controller, with amd has. That's the secret. You can connect the hd, but, when you change mobo's, that's a major component. I would always do a fresh install the OS when mobo's are changed. The psu might work, but I doubt. Probably some custom dell too. Sorry, but if you want to pull off some major frame rates you need to pull some major cash. The x1900 is a great card. I would just use it with what you have now, if you want. You might get some better fps, but it's not the right time to get things... especially with ddr2 on the verge of coming...

Hes running Battlefield 2 buddy. A lot more graphic intense. Hell, i can run CS:S at 1680x1050 with AA and AF and still get decent frames.

im sorry but i didnt post. I never really ran at 1600 res yet ill try it out

Im running at 1200 res 6 aa. Im getting different ideas here and its kind of confusing me.

On another forum people tell me it could be the game/softeware etc etc but im kind of out of ideas and thought i done everything

someone else said something about sound.. which i said i cant prove or cant make sure it is. in bf2 maps with walls. Seem to run the worst 40-50s fps. While oman on 64man servers runs pretty good at least for me at 60avg min 35fps which i never really seen hit until like artillery fires and about 102 max beacuse of the cap in bf2 this is with fraps. this was the demo i cant find 64man full servers on final game

Any new pc games to try? I only play bf2 right at the moment. I do have cod2 but not installed also FEAR but i get the same as everyone else on that in game test

I just hope I get help and it doesnt end like before when the topic just died for my other problems i had and never fixed a while ago

if you would like i can re run FEAR but from what i understand it is gpu limited

right? and cpu doesnt really effect it
