Hi,

Im wondering which graphics card is good for gaming. I am fairly new to the graphics world, and am wondering what a good Geforce card is, remembering i dont want to pay a fortune.
All suggestions are much appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

First off, what your current specs? How much can you spend, max? And what games do you play?

I dont currently have a great system, but am upgrading parts as i go....

I have a:
Celeron 2.4ghz
760mb DDR RAM
64mb Onboard graphics :(

I dont really have a budget as such, but dont want to pay a fortune.

Do you know if you have an agp slot or a pci express slot? Frist, I would upgrade to a gig of ram. I'm going to assume you have an agp... so... this is the best one out for agp... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130272
this is slightly cheaper but almost as good... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130264
Going down, this card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143027
is yet cheaper and will give less performance than the above two. It's up to you. And, what psu wattage do you have? Anything less than 350W would not support any of these cards... if you don't want to upgrade your psu... then, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814121195

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814122206
are all good contenders.. if depends on your wants...

Really?!?!? On that machine with a celeron? Whoa... ok. I trust you. It's your comp after all... :D

ya u should think about a new cpu first since a new vid card will only be bottlenecked by that peice of $h!T
