Latitude vs. Inspiron (help please)

I'm a college student and the computer i purchased to start was the hp pavillion zv5000 and i'm sure many of you know about the numerous problems associated with this machine. it's a year and a half later and i'm pretty much forced to replace the computer and have settled on a dell(good customer service, good warranty, in my price range) but i'm having trouble deciding between a latitude d610 and an inspiron 6000. will i really need to upgrade the video card and sound card with the inspiron from the ones the defaults? will one computer last significantly longer than the other? i know there is a difference in size but is the inspiron prohibitively large? any help would be appreciated. thanks

I own a hp pavillion zv5000 as well, it's my work computer and i've never had a problem with it yet. I must of gotten one of the lucky ones.

Just thought i'd mention that

I own a insprion 2200 with dell as my home computer and i haven't had a problem yet with it. It runs the very best.

I'm not sure about latitudes since i never owned one sorry.
