here are the main differences...
XP cannot join a domain, only form workgroups.
XP home has a limited amount of connections that can be made to it (3) so if you wanted to make a gateway machine to share the internet, XP home wouldn't be your choice if you had more than three other machines.
XP home only allows remote assistance, (not remote desktop/terminal services), so if you want to work on your own PC whilst away from your PC you'll have to use a different method, -like VNC
the maximum amount of memory that the os can recognise if differenet as well (I think)...
for the most part, XP home is good for the regular home user...
but some people will need that little bit extra.
