What really is the diff.. is it worth the extra money to get pro?

Yeah i had and still do, have the same question

I remeber seeing that link before maybe theres a thread like this one..

I still dont know what version to get of XP  Hard choice..

Pro has more business related features along with enhanced security. Home is for those not needing all the extra bells and whistles.
Getting a OS is like building a computer. You have to think about what you want it for.

right...
here are the main differences...

XP cannot join a domain, only form workgroups.
XP home has a limited amount of connections that can be made to it (3) so if you wanted to make a gateway machine to share the internet, XP home wouldn't be your choice if you had more than three other machines.
XP home only allows remote assistance, (not remote desktop/terminal services), so if you want to work on your own PC whilst away from your PC you'll have to use a different method, -like VNC
the maximum amount of memory that the os can recognise if differenet as well (I think)...

for the most part, XP home is good for the regular home user...
but some people will need that little bit extra.

Multi-processor support - Windows XP Pro supports up to two microprocessors, while Home Edition supports only one.

What does this mean? Is it saying that Home wont support dual core processors?

And beside that I dont know what the heck half of that stuff is saying in the web page I should go with home then right? and what about the x64 edition?
