Looking for 5.1 sound card: Cheap and effective!

Yeah, Looking for (I think a 24bit sound card) I have seen them as low as like 20.00 USD. But, those im afraid are too cheap. Although im sure that anything is better then intigrated sounds right? So yeah, I have some 100 watt speakers.. And just lookin for something that gives me even, clean steady sound. You know how sound can jump in games, when you change angles. Well I wanna avoid that. But mind you cheap. So a little help please,

Creative Labs sells reconditioned sound cards on Ebay. I bought an Audugy(sp) 2 THX card from them for $35.00. Shipped fast and I downloaded the latest drivers from their website. It did come with proper CD and instructions. I forget what the warrenty is. 3 months maybe? Sounds excellent!

eBay is definitely the place to look for cheap, good quality sound cards but if you want to get it off of Newegg, I like this one:

It's pretty cheap and good quality. Personally, I like the Audigy 2 or the X-fi, but those can get pretty high in cost.

Well jonS, off newegg, how much is your card worth?

I don't knowbecause they don't make that card anymore. Its supposed to have been $129 retail. Thats probably at CompUSA. This might be the one, but the prices are slightly different. Anyway, its still a good deal.

Are those two cards the same? Because the one you gave me was refurbished, but the one that i found is like brand new. And a penny more

So which one is better. And if anyone else can provide links for really good cards, please let me know.

Well.. (no offence). But you can get much better off ebay, for about that price. So do you think that its worth it on ebay. Or just get that?

It depends if you want to take that risk. Maybe 50%+ of that whole site is filled with scammers. Some are legit sellers, but some aren't...I prefer to just buy it retail. You get the hardware fresh without anyone else ever using it, and you can always just exchange or RMA it if there is some manufacturing defect.
