Ahh...yeah the yellow slot is the "Future CPU" slot. So when Socket AM2 comes out, ASRock can just release a expansion board with that CPU socket and I'm all good to go.
The current one I'm using is the ASUS K8V SE Deluxe. It uses the VIA K8T800 chipset and is Socket 754. It's not a bad board overall, but it's such pain in the ass now, so I'm going with my new motherboard; the ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 motherboard.
Haha, you do know that ASRock is a subsidary of ASUS, right? They're basically the "value" department. I actually haven't used this motherboard, it's currently on it's way to me thanks to FedEx. I've heard great things about it though.
excepcted soemthign with the logo simalarities! seems like a nice mobo but I wont get it. Im allreADY set with intel. I will let you all know when I get my intel board how good it is.
I just finished reading the Manual for the board. There are so many features that come with this board and the capabilities of this thing is incredible. I am just really curious as to see how it will perform.
At first the BIOS options might be overwhelming. DFI boards take an incredible amount of time to tweak. You need to play with drive strengths, timings, dividers, and all that other stuff.
Geez...ive got a stack load of those old ones, P2 right? Lol, I love the way those processors are done..god and do you remember those huge huge internal modems..lmao...suprised its got AGP, how long has AGP been around lol..
