I have an XFX 6800GT and it's currently running at about 68-70C idle and up to 100C under load which is way too hot. I can't figure it out, here's my setup.

Dell Optiplex GX620
3.4Ghz P4 Processor
1.5Gigs of Ram
XFX 256MB 6800GT
APEX 500W Psu

Maybe it's poor circulation?..here my computer case:

Here's info about the computer itself:

I'm not that familiar with nvidia, but with atitool you can adjust the temps and set it so that the temp never goes above a certain temp. With forceware, who knows. Your gpu could fry if you keep this up... really unhealthy. Try getting a new fan for the gpu. there are some nice zalman's. If you don't want to do that, try looking for some programs that would adjust your fan speeds and forceware to maintain a healthy temp.

those are not uncommon temps with nvidia cards but its still a bit warm, make sure u have intake and exaust fans so u have air circulating through the case properly, i dont know if u can do that with a dell case but u can always buy a cheap case and transfer everything

I have my doubts that that thing will even fit in my case..looks good though.

Just takes up two slots... but yeah, it's big. Better than the x700 from saphire... takes up 3 slots!!!

Hmm..I've just gotten an error stating that the video card isnt getting enough power. I don't see how it could be the psu as I'm sure it supplies enough, could this be a result of overheating?
