IO error

Hi

I am running windows XP with a P4 2.0 GHZ CPU
and 512 MB RAM.

I am trying to install a program I have downloaded and get
a message,

"An I/O error has occurred while installing a file.
This
is normally caused by bad installation media or a corrupt
installation file."

I have tried downloading the file again,
several times and get the same
message.
I have checked on the internet and found some sites that might help, but they didn't. Here is one:

Please
let me know what I can do about this.

thanks

If you've tried all those possible solutions, and you're still getting the error with that one file, I would say that file is corrupt. Has anyone else you know been able to download the file, and install it successfully?

No, no one I know has done that. I was wondering if I just reinstall windows if everything should be ok. Seems like the only possible solution as this point.
