restart problem

everytime i turn off my pc, it restarts so the only way to get it completely off is to use the switch on the PSU and i know that i shouldnt do that alot or it will mess up my pc.
 
ditto. may be the button is sticking?

i assume you are using xp er somethign like it if so then are you useing the start shut down or are you hitting the button? if you use start shut down may be a fiel or reg key got messed with and made say restart rather then shut down?

its kinda far out there but that is all i could come up with.
 
i have xp its pretty much doing the same thing when the elecricty goes out, it restarts.
 
What kind of computer do you have..how old is it...and name all ur specs...
 
AMD Sempron 2500+...512 RAM...Antec PSU & case... 300gb sata seagate hdd...abit motherboard
 
Maybe one of your wires is loose causing it to turn off and on? im not sure just taking a guess
